Sustainability

In Cugini We believe that the relationship between people, natural resources and the territory is fundamental to build a better future for the next generations, based on respect, trust and competence.

This thought takes shape in everyday choices: in the management of the quarry, in energy supply, in the use of raw materials and in relationships with people. We relate these activities through facts and data, to give concrete meaning to our commitment.

Cultivate tomorrow, from the quarry: we support the extractive activity of environmental recovery and the abode of plant species, accompanying over time the recovery of the affected areas.

Participating actively in the energy transition means, for us, giving energy to change through concrete choices. For the electricity purchased we use supplies from renewable sources, whose origin is attested by the Origins of Origin.
This path continues with the participation, together with other partners, in projects under Energy Release 2.0, aimed at the realization of new plants for the production of electricity from renewable sources on the national territory.

To combine distances, to value the nearby resources: an important part of the limestone we use is zero km, coming from our own quarry, near the plant. Where possible, we attach raw materials to this resource from suppliers of the territory, with the aim to contain supply distances.
To give value to resources also means recognizing new possibilities in materials: in some formulations we use recycled, recovered or by-products, which find in our products a new use, contributing to the circularity of resources.
These choices take shape in numerous solutions Cugini that meet specific requirements CAM building, offering designers and companies suitable for the needs of their interventions.

The link with the territory also lives in relationships: we collaborate with local authorities, schools, universities and professional orders, promoting opportunities for training and comparison and supporting social and sporting initiatives of the community.

In the valley of the river Carso there is a naturalistic path that starts from the spring, downstream of the cement factory Cugini, and it develops north. Created in the past on the initiative of the Municipal Administration, the route presented several critical issues.

The project envisaged targeted redevelopment and enhancement measures, as well as the safety of a significant section of the path. The works included the restoration and consolidation of the path, the arrangement of the points of complusion and the areas subject to erosion, using techniques of naturalistic engineering.
